<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propagation loss estimating device for estimating a propagation loss easily and accurately by considering an influence on propagation of radio waves in a radio communication system caused by tall structures. <P>SOLUTION: The propagation loss estimating device includes: a structure database to which structure information is prestored; a total area calculation unit for extracting the tall structures that exist inside a prescribed section around a base station and are higher than an antenna in the base station by referring to the structure database, and for calculating a total area of the structures, namely the sum total of areas formed by projecting all of the extracted structures onto the ground; an area ratio calculation unit for obtaining an area of the prescribed section around the base station, and for calculating a building area ratio, namely a ratio of the total area of structures to the area of the section; and a propagation loss calculation unit for calculating an estimated value of the propagation loss by considering an influence on the structures around the base station, based on the building area ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
