<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows to appropriately read and/or write information stored in the memory of a replaceable article, in a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes: a mounting portion for loading the replaceable item with memories 53, 54, 55, 56; a reading/writing section 61 for performing writing and/or reading of information to the memory of the replaceable article loaded in the mounting portion; a communicating section 51 for communicating with an information processing device 80; and a switching section 52 for switching the information processing section 80 and memory via the communicating section 51 so that they are connected or disconnected. Upon receiving an instruction to connect the information processing device 80 and the memory of the replaceable item, the switching section 52 switches them to a connected state. When they are connected by the switching section 52, the writing section 61 or information processing device 80 writes the information of the memory according to a reading and/or writing instruction given to the information processing device 80, which is input via the communicating section 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
