摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incineration method for a waste ion exchange resin improving volume reduction properties by reducing the proportion of residual ash contents after the incineration, for the waste ion exchange resin stored as a slurry of high moisture content after the use in a nuclear power plant. SOLUTION: The waste ion exchange resin is charged from a waste material charging part 1 provided at one end part of a closed rotary incinerator having a rotary drum 3 rotatably supported so that the central axis is horizontal and an outer shell 4 of a closed structure surrounding the outer circumference of the rotary drum. After performing the drying, heat decomposition, and the incineration in the closed rotary incinerator while blowing a flame in the rotary drum from a burner 6 for radioactive waste combustion provided at a lower part of an exhaust gas outlet part 2, particulate carbon included in the ash contents is burned with the temperature of a combustion damper 8 surface held equal to or more than the combustion temperature of the particulate carbon included in the ash contents held by the combustion damper 8 surface provided at an inlet part to an incineration residue discharge port 7.
