PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a document feeding speed from being varied due to an impact caused when a distal end of the document to be fed collides with a bent part. SOLUTION: When a distal end of a document passes through a first bent part K1 of a first reading path and third and fourth bent parts K3 and K4 of a second reading path respectively, a current to be supplied to a reading motor is increased. Thus, the reading motor enters high torque rotation state, and even when the distal end of the document collides with the first bent part K1 of the first reading path and the third and fourth bent parts K3 and K4 of the second reading path, to incur an impact, the reading motor is in high toque state, thereby preventing the rotating speed of the reading motor from being varied, and suppressing a document feeding speed from being varied by each of reading and feeding rollers.
