PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE, AND DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly execute distortion correction processing even if a synchronization signal corresponding to another frame image is inputted during distortion correction processing for each of frame images.

SOLUTION: A projection type display device includes: a signal acquiring section for acquiring a video signal and a synchronization signal corresponding to each frame image; a video display section for displaying a video image on a projection surface by using the video signal; and a distortion correction processing section for executing distortion correction processing for the video signal in order to correct the distortion of a video image displayed on the projection surface. The projection type display device has a control section for causing the distortion correction processing section to continue the distortion correction processing for one frame image without starting distortion correction processing for the other frame image when a synchronization signal corresponding to the other frame image is acquired during the distortion correction processing for the one frame image.
