PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To match the degradation state of a developer with the replacement time of the developer, by predicting the degradation state of the developer from accumulated print conditions and determining the lifetime of the developer (time for replacing the developer). SOLUTION: The image formation device includes a counting means 201, which counts the number of cumulative printing pages and the number of continuous printing pages per job; an image area ratio calculating means 202, which calculates the image area ratio per page of printing to a recording medium; an average image area ratio calculating means 203, which calculates the average image area ratio per page, on the basis of the number of accumulated printing pages and the image area ratio; an average duty calculating means 204, which calculates the average number of continuous printing pages per job, on the basis of the number of continuous printing pages per job; and a developer lifetime calculating means 207, which calculates the lifetime of developer, on the basis of the average image area ratio and the average number of continuous printing pages.
