PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stance determination system and a stance determination method determining the optimum stance of both feet on the basis of the physical feature of each player. SOLUTION: The stance determination system includes: rotating members 16R, 16L for mounting both feed thereon and swiveling them outwards and inwards, a potentiometer 22 for detecting the outward swiveling angle and inward swiveling angle of the rotating members 16R, 16L; and a CPU 34A for determining the optimum stance of both feet on the basis of the outward swiveling angle and the inward swiveling angle detected by the potentiometer 22. The CPU 34A calculates the center angle relative to the center line of right and left feet respectively on the basis of the outward swiveling angle and the inward swiveling angle detected by swiveling the rotating members 16R, 16L outwards and inwards relative to the center line in a state in which the right and left feet are mounted on the rotating members 16R, 16L, calculates an opening angle between the calculated center angles of both feet, determines the toe angle of one foot at a predetermined position, and defines the position for maintaining the opening angle relative to the toe angle of the one foot as the toe angle of the other foot.
