PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a starting frame when retroactively recording moving image signals in response to a recording starting instruction. SOLUTION: In the case where an inputted moving image signal is stored in a memory and moving image signals stored in the memory a predetermined time before the reception of a recording starting instruction are to be recorded on a connected recording medium, processing is performed as follows. Namely, a recording apparatus simultaneously displays, on a display area of a connected display device: an image relating to the moving image signal which is inputted when the recording starting instruction is received; and images relating to the moving image signals, stored in the memory, inputted the predetermined time before the reception of the recording starting instruction.
