<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus which forms an image, by a photographing optical system on an imaging surface of an imaging means and can be assembled at different positions turned around the optical axis to the imaging surface while reducing the size and weight of a lens group closest to an image plane side. <P>SOLUTION: The image pickup surface includes an effective light-receiving surface having a rectangular shape defined by short sides and long sides. The photographing optical system includes a lens which is arranged closest to the image plane side and has an optical surface having a non-circular shape in the front side and working on imaging, at a position closest to the imaging surface side. The boundary of the non-circular optical surface of the lens closest to the image plane includes a pair of mutually parallel sides, such that when the lens closest to the image plane is rotated about the optical axis relatively to the imaging surface, an image area formed by the non-circular optical surface covers the rectangular effective light-receiving area of the imaging surface, before and after rotation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
