PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a plurality of pallets to another working station having different spaces therebetween by changing the spaces between the pallets without changing the pallets. SOLUTION: A pallet conveying device includes a pallet rail 16 for connecting a stand-by position 4 and a plurality of scattered working stations 1 to 3, a plurality of pallets 11 to 13 mounted on the pallet rail 16 and connected together, and a releasing and arranging device 35 for releasing the connection of the pallets 11 to 13 and arranging them in the working stations 1 to 3. One or more releasing and arranging devices 35 are arranged so that the connections of the pallets located at a rear part of the plurality of pallets moving from the stand-by position 4 are sequentially released and the plurality of pallets 12 and 13 are sequentially arranged in the working stations 2 and 3. In a pallet conveying method, the connections of the pallets located in the rear part in the plurality of moving pallets are sequentially released and the pallets are sequentially arranged in the sequentially passing working stations.
