PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication device that is simply configured, simply controls distortion compensation and allows optimized distortion compensation immediately after startup, and to obtain an amplifier and an amplifying method. SOLUTION: The communication device includes: an amplification circuit 20 which amplifies a communication signal S11 corresponding to transmission data, a termination unit 30 which outputs a transmission signal S20 from the amplification circuit 20 to the outside, a predistortion compensation means which detects the distortion component of the transmission signal S20 and adds a distortion compensation value to the distortion communication signal S11 corresponding to the transmission data so that the distortion compensation is reduced, and a start processing means which adds a distortion compensation value expected at startup of the amplification circuit 20 to the distortion communication signal S11 corresponding to the transmission data when the amplification circuit 20 is started.
