PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front body structure of an automobile, wherein, when a predetermined load to press down the front part of a hood operates, the front body structure effectively absorbs the load so as to cushion the shock, while ordinarily holding a radiator stably. SOLUTION: The front structure of an automobile has a hood 1 arranged to cover the upper surface of the front part of a vehicle body to be opened and closed and a frame type shroud 3 holding a radiator 2 in the lower part of the hood 1. The shroud 3 is mounted onto a vehicle body side member (bumper beam 6) through a mounting part (mounting bracket 21) positioned in the nearly central part or in the lower part of the shroud 3 in the vertical direction, and is rocked and displaced with the mounting part as a center, according to a predetermined load F inputted to the upper front of the shroud 3 from the hood 1, while maintaining the holding state of the radiator 2, and in response to this state, the upper part of the shroud 3 is supported to be retreated.
