The device has a mounting bracket (2), which is inserted into a recess of a plate-shaped structure, and a stopper (4) insertable into the mounting bracket. Flanks (3.1, 3.2) cause a rear engagement of the fastening device behind the plate- shaped structure during the insertion of the stopper. The flanks are formed separately and are moved from a mounting position into a locking position by the insertion of the stopper. The mounting bracket and/or the connector are made of plastic, and the flanks are made of a sheet steel.
