摘要 A brake pad 16 is positioned at a distance d with respect to a brake disc 14. A predefined prefill pressure is applied to the brake pad 16 for reducing the distance between the pad 16 and disc 14 by a distance d1 by means of an ESC system (electronic brake control modulator) 24 after each detection of a normal brake wish. A normal actuating pressure is applied to the brake pad 16 for reducing the distance between the pad 16 and disc 14 further, wherein the normal actuating pressure is lower than the prefill pressure. Due to the increased prefill pressure compared to common brake systems the brake pad 16 of the brake 12 can be moved by an increased distance towards the brake disc 14 at the beginning of an actuating of the brake 12 without a changed brake feeling for the driver of the vehicle during the brake mode. Due to the increased clearance between the pad 16 and disc 14 the risk of unintended brake friction is reduced or even eliminated. Energy losses and/or drag torque by means of the brake 12 are reduced.
