An apparatus (1) for milling an object, comprises a cutting unit (55) and a further cutting unit (56), the cutting unit (55) and the further cutting unit (56) being movable in relation to one another between a first operating configuration, in which the cutting unit (55) interacts with the object and the further cutting unit (56) does not interact with the object and a second operating configuration (X2), in which the further cutting unit (56) interacts with the object and the cutting unit (55) does not interact with the object. In order to prevent parts removed from the object (2) and/or dust from penetrating an internal zone (99) of the apparatus (1) defined between the cutting unit (55) the further cutting unit (56), both in the first operating configuration and in the second operating configuration (X2), there is provided sealing means (18, 70, 74, 78) interposed between the cutting unit (55) and the further cutting unit (56).
