PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling an Electric Steering Column Locking device are provided to maximally reduce power consumption by stopping power supplied to an ESCL device. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling an ESCL device is as follows. An ESCL device comprises a control module and a power module. The control module supplies a power supply order to the power module to supply power to the ESCL device(103). The control module collects current information from the ESCL device. It is determined whether the collected current information is a locked state(109). If the current information is the locked state, an unlocking order is transferred(113). |
