Thixotropic corrosion protection additive comprises a mixture of at least dialkylbenzene sulfonate with a coconut fatty acid. An independent claim is included for producing thixotropic corrosion protection additives, comprising either reacting dialkylbenzene sulfonic acid with at least a base and then adding coconut fatty acid, or neutralizing dialkylbenzene sulfonic acid with a base in the presence of coconut fatty acid.
