Method for combined transport and semi-trailer for use in the method

The method involves loading an articulated lorry (1) in a loading station (5) such that the lorry contains cargo in a range of 35 to 40 tons. The lorry is driven from the station to a cargo handling terminal (6) in short forerun. The lorry is loaded with the cargo on a pocket wagon (9) from a towing vehicle (2) using a cargo handling device (8). The wagon is driven from the terminal to another cargo handling terminal (12) in main run. The lorry is driven to another loading station (16) in short overrun, and a part of the cargo is removed from the lorry in the latter station. An independent claim is also included for a semi-trailer with a frame for combined transportation on a road and a rail.
