<p>The method involves determining a failure risk for a controlled router (102) in a communication network (100) and a transmission period of control messages depending on the failure risk of the controlled router. The transmission period of the control messages is notified to controller routers (104, 106, 108). The transmission period of the control messages is increased or decreased when the failure risk of the controlled router is respectively increased or decreased. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining packet routing tables in a network (2) a router for a communication network (3) data packets transmitted between routers of a communication network.</p> |
