A sealed self-aligning rolling element bearing is provided. The bearing comprises: an inner bearing ring 1 with race tracks 3a, 3b, and an outer bearing ring 2 with a race track 4 for the rolling elements. Positioned radially outside the inner bearing ring 1, a bearing seal 10 is arranged in the bearing axially outside of the race tracks 3a, 3b, 4. The bearing seal 10 is designed to bridge the space between the inner and outer bearing rings 1, 2. The bearing seal 10 includes an opening 14 (best seen in Figure 2) for handling pressure variations in the bearing. The opening 14 may take the form of a slit or a cut. |
