PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera system arranged such that an electronic camera recognizes accessories. SOLUTION: Information about accessories 2-4 being used in combination with an electronic camera 1 is prestored in the data base 104 thereof. The information to be stored includes the type of accessories, control values required for the electronic camera 1 when the accessories are used, and the like. The accessories are imparted previously with two-dimensional bar codes 2a, 3a and 4a which are read out using the image pick-up section 102 of the electronic camera 1.
