The foam bodies are composed of body segments that are arranged in a plane next to each other, and are connected to each other. The body segments comprise weld seams (23) at abutting surfaces. The weld seams between the foam bodies are interrupted by recesses (45) that are provided at a distance from each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a flat structural element.
