The device has a base (2) supported on ground. A bed foot leveling rod (3) and a bed head leveling rod (4) are articulated on the base at primary ends and articulated on a bed frame at secondary ends for constituting a deformable parallelogram shaped structure. Tracing wheels (6) are freely rotated and integrated to the rods near the primary ends. The tracing wheels are positioned with respect to the rods so as to be spaced from the ground when the bed is folded up in a low position and in contact with the ground when the bed is unfolded in a raised position. An independent claim is also included for a bed, comprising a pedal.
