The device has a tangential blocking unit for tangential blocking of a sliding cable sheath terminal (20) to prevent any translatory movement of the sheath terminal with respect to a support (30) along a longitudinal direction of a sliding cable (1). A radial blocking unit radially blocks the sheath terminal so as to prevent any rotational movement around longitudinal axis of the sliding cable of the sheath terminal with respect to the support. The tangential blocking unit is consisted a projecting tab projected from the sheath terminal. An independent claim is also included for a transmission controller of a motor vehicle.
