摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin having a low photoelastic constant, good fluidity and excellent thermal stability, wherein the polycarbonate resin can give a film having wavelength dispersion suitable to optical applications such as a retardation film and a polarizer protective film, and to provide an optical film made of the polycarbonate resin. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin has a repeating unit (A) as its main repeating unit and a specific viscosity of 0.20-1.50 measured with a methylene chloride solution at 20&deg;C. The optical film made of the polycarbonate resin shows optional wavelength dispersion. In the formula of the repeating unit (A), R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>, R<SB>4</SB>, R<SB>5</SB>and R<SB>6</SB>each independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a 1-10C hydrocarbon group; R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>may combine with each other to form a carbon ring or a heterocycle; R<SB>4</SB>and R<SB>5</SB>may combine with each other to form a carbon ring or a heterocycle; and m and n indicate the same or different integer of 1-4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
