<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission which can transmit power imparted to an input member, to an output member by changing a gear ratio into a plurality of stages with the change-over of the engaging conditions of a plurality of clutches, for reducing the number of components while stably supporting the input member and the clutch drums of the plurality of clutches on a case. <P>SOLUTION: In an automatic transmission 30, the clutch drum 50 of a clutch C2 as the first clutch is fixed to an input shaft 34, and the clutch drum 40 of a clutch C1 as the second clutch is connected to the clutch drum 50 via a spline fitting part 60, has a bracket 60b as a part for abutting on a cancel plate 57 of the clutch C2, and is positioned in the axial direction by a snap ring 70 mounted on the input shaft 34.
