PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp structure of a high-pressure discharge lamp formed by embedding a holding cylindrical body made of quartz glass with an electrode shaft inserted in a sealing part, while increasing a length of the cylindrical body without increasing the length of a sealing part and reducing eccentricity of an electrode by reducing inclination amount in the sealing part. SOLUTION: The cylindrical body is extended to the rear of the rear end of the inserted electrode shaft. A flat slit is formed along a shaft direction from the rear end face.
