<p>Disclosed is a BBW brake device, wherein two wheel cylinder systems (26, 27; 30, 31) are made operable by connecting first and second fluid channels (Pb, Qb), which are connected to each other by opening a communication control valve (41), to a simply-structured slave cylinder (42) equipped with a single hydraulic pressure chamber, eliminating the need for a complex tandem-type slave cylinder. If the slave cylinder (42) is unable to operate due to a power supply failure, first and second master cut valves (32, 33) open and the communication control valve (41) closes, and braking is performed through the brake fluid pressure thus generated by a master cylinder (11). In this case, if the wheel cylinder of the other brake device leaks fluid and fails as a result of the communication control valve (41) closing and blocking the connection between the first and second fluid channels (Pb, Qb), braking force can be ensured by the other remaining brake device.</p> |
