<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device hardly causing an increase in a pressure loss and purifying exhaust gas with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 100 includes: a first one-side plugged honeycomb structure 10 which has a three-way catalyst, first plugged portions 8 arranged in the openings of some of cells 4a on a first inflow-side end surface 2, and the whole cells opened on the first inflow-side end surface 2; a second one-side plugged honeycomb structure 20 which has second plugged honeycomb portions 18 provided for plugging the openings of some of the cells on a second outflow-side end surface 13; and a can body 30. The first one-side plugged honeycomb structure 10 is arranged on the side of the outflow port 22 of the can body 30 so that the first inflow-side end surface 2 faces the side of the outflow port 22 of the can body 30. The three-way catalyst is carried in the inflow-side area 31 of the first one-side plugged honeycomb structure 10, and a catalyst is not carried in an outflow-side area 32 and the second one-side plugged honeycomb structure 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
