PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device, a method for driving the electro-optical device, and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic display device 100 is configured by holding electrophoretic elements 32 between an element substrate 30 and a counter substrate 31. The electrophoretic display device 100 has, on the surface of the element substrate 30 on the side of the electrophoretic elements 32: a plurality of scanning lines 66 and a plurality of data lines 68 extending in directions intersecting each other; selection transistors TRs connected to the scanning lines 66 and data lines 68; pixel electrodes 35 connected to the selection transistors TRs; and capacitors Cs in which one electrode 10b is connected to the selection transistors TRs and pixel electrodes 35, and the other electrode 10a is connected to the scanning lines 66 in other line.
