PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting machine and a method of machining processing for the same capable of smoothly and efficiently performing machining processing by recognizing the kind of a foreign matter deposited on a cutting tool. SOLUTION: Since the machining processing is performed (step 126) and image processing II is performed again (step 128) after the foreign matter is detected at a step 114 (step 122), when comparison is performed at a comparison value of a projection amount MM in the image processing I (step 100) and the image processing II (step 130), the foreign matter of a narrow meaning removed at the machining processing or the melted article not removed at the machining processing can be clearly distinguished (step 130). Namely, even if the foreign matter of a wide meaning is deposited on a cutting edge, labor for stopping the operation of a lathe and cleaning the cutting edge by manual work in each deposition is saved and a brushing device for removing the foreign matter or the like cannot be required. Accordingly, since the foreign matter of the narrow meaning or the melted article can be distinguished, the operation of the lathe can be smoothly and efficiently continued.
