PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cure a photocuring resin formed between a sealing substrate and an organic EL element by ultraviolet ray with no damage on the organic EL element when manufacturing an organic EL display device. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device includes a first substrate containing a lamination surface in which there are stacked a thin film transistor, a plurality of first electrodes formed on the thin film transistor to correspond to pixels, a plurality of barrier walls for dividing the first electrode for each pixel, an organic light emitting layer formed on the first electrode, and a second electrode formed on the organic light emitting layer. It also includes a transparent second substrate in which such ultraviolet ray absorbing film is formed to allow emission from the organic light emitting layer to penetrate but absorb ultraviolet ray on a counter surface opposed to the lamination surface of the first substrate, and a photocuring sealing material which glues the first substrate to the second substrate. The ultraviolet ray absorbing film formed on the counter surface of the second substrate is so provided as to correspond to each pixel divided by the barrier wall of the first substrate.
