PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting the H7 type avian influenza virus. SOLUTION: The oligonucleotide primer set comprises an inner primer set consisting of the following base sequences (a) and (b) and an outer primer set consisting of the following base sequences (c) and (d): (a) 5'-(the base sequence complementary to the base sequence of sequence number 49)-(an arbitrary base sequences of 0-50 bases)-(the base sequence of sequence number 50)-3', (b) 5'-(the base sequence of sequence number 52)-(an arbitrary base sequences of 0-50 bases)-(the base sequence complementary to the base sequence of sequence number 53)-3', (c) the base sequence of sequence number 51, and (d) the base sequence of sequence number 57.
