Disclosed is a CO shift catalyst for modifying carbon monooxide (CO) in a gas, which comprises: an active component that contains any one element selected from molybdenum (Mo) and iron (Fe) as the main ingredient and any one element selected from nickel (Ni) and ruthenium (Ru) as an auxiliary ingredient; and a carrier that supports the active component thereon and comprises at least one oxide selected from oxides of titanium (Ti), zirconium (Zr) and cerium (Ce). The CO shift catalyst is applicable to a CO shift reaction apparatus (20) that enables the conversion of CO contained in a gasified gas (12) generated in a gasification furnace (11) into CO2.
