By contrast, the backlight device (12) is provided with LEDs (24) as a light source, and the LEDs (24) are each provided with an LED chip (24a), which is a source of light emission, and a fluorescent body, which is excited by the light from the LED chip (24a) and emits light. At least a YAG fluorescent body is contained in the fluorescent body.</p>
