<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallax barrier and an image display device, suppressing deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The parallax barrier (step barrier) 4A is combined with a display means (liquid crystal panel) 3 in which a plurality of first pixels 31 and a plurality of second pixels 32 are arrayed respectively, and separates a first image displayed by the first pixel 31 from a second image displayed by the second pixels 32. The parallax barrier includes: a plurality of first transmission parts 43 respectively arranged by corresponding to the first pixels 31 and the second pixels 32, and for transmitting light emitted along a first viewing direction from the first pixels 31 and light emitted along a second viewing direction different from the first viewing direction from the second pixels 32; a light intercepting part for intercepting light emitted in a direction different from the first viewing direction from the first pixels 31 and light emitted in direction different from the second viewing direction from the second pixels 32; and a plurality of second transmission parts 44A formed in the light intercepting part, and for transmitting at least some of light made to be incident from the display means 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
