<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant and its power saving control method, in which power supply to a display section is stopped only when power supply stop is allowed, and power consumption is reduced without requiring any special hardware. <P>SOLUTION: A personal digital assistant is equipped with: a task state control section 103 for holding a function for which it is possible to take a speech position and notifies a state of being executing the function; and a voice output destination control section 104 for detecting whether a current voice output destination is at least a receiver, a speaker or an external device. When the function likely to take the speech position at present is executed and the current voice output destination is the receiver, power supply to a display device 105 is stopped, while, in the other case, power supply is controlled not to be stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
