IMAGE DATA GENERATING DEVICE, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, AND DISPLAY DRIVING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data generating device which can generate image data where no complementary color inversion occurs in a liquid crystal display device using a TN mode, a liquid crystal display device using such the image data generating device, and a display driving method.

SOLUTION: An image processing block 200 for generating image data for display in a liquid crystal display part 110 having a liquid crystal layer LC of the TN mode includes a γ correction mapping block 203 for converting image data D1 indicating the gradation level of an image displayed on the liquid crystal display part 110 into image data D2 having a maximum gradation level limited to set the gradation level equal to or less than that where complementary color inversion observed by inverting the color of the image displayed on the liquid crystal display part 110 when the liquid crystal display part 110 is observed from a specific direction.
