<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor and a program for data processing capable of easily comparing, on a screen, waveform data such as a spectrum and chromatogram acquired from various analyzers such as a spectrophotometer. <P>SOLUTION: A user moves a reference range specifying cursor 62 by operating a mouse or the like, and specifies a horizontal axis range where reference peaks are intended to be matched. Thus, the horizontal axis range specified by the user is set as a reference range. The magnification and offset value of one waveform are calculated so that the maximum values and minimum values of waveform data are matched in the specified reference range.
