PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety catcher of a loading space in a stacker crane for surely stopping the loading space, when stopping falling of the loading space by nipping masts by a sandwiching member. SOLUTION: This safety catcher 26 of the loading space 8 in the stacker crane, has a pair of front-rear masts 4 erected from a floor surface, suspends the loading space 8 capable of placing a cargo by a wire rope 17, and lifts the loading space 8 by the wire rope 17 between both masts 4. The safety catcher 26 has a pair of sandwiching members 32 for sandwiching the masts 4 from both left-right side surfaces simultaneously with disconnection of the wire rope 17. A load member 31 for applying a load of the loading space 8 is arranged on both left-right sides of both sandwiching members 32.
