PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting hydrogen sulfide which is simpler than conventional methods. SOLUTION: The method for detecting hydrogen sulfide has the process for introducing flow gas into a diluent solvent 14 while heating the diluent solvent 14 in which hydrogen sulfide-containing fuel oil is dissolved, collecting the flow gas discharged from the diluent solvent 14 in a collection vessel 13 and measuring the content of hydrogen sulfide in the flow gas collected in the collection vessel 13 by a hydrogen sulfide detection tube 20.
