PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently generate a search formula uniquely specifying a target node, even when tree structure data like HTML and XML is modified. SOLUTION: The method provides a search formula to allow a computer for executing an application installed by a tree structure to specify a screen portion in a screen displayed by the application. In the method, the computer executes the processes of acquiring the screen portion selected by a user, generating a plurality of candidates for the search formula uniquely specifying the acquired screen portion, obtaining one or more feature amounts for each of the generated plurality of candidates, calculating the robustness of the plurality of candidates by adding the obtained one or more feature amounts, and displaying the calculated robustness and the plurality of candidates.
