<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting fixture that turns on both a fluorescent lamp and an LED lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting fixture A is provided with: lamp sockets 3, 3 on which any of a straight-tube fluorescent lamp or a straight-tube LED lamp 4 having the same outer dimension as the fluorescent lamp is installed detachably; a fixture body with the lamp sockets 3, 3 mounted thereon; a power supply part 2 to supply power to the fluorescent lamp or the LED lamp 4 installed in the lamp sockets 3, 3; and a detection part 5 which detects that the lamp installed in the lamp sockets 3, 3 is the LED lamp 4. The power supply part 2 has a power supply circuit 21 which outputs selectively high frequency power or DC power, and a switching circuit 22 which switches over output of the power supply circuit 21.
