PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition for architectural coating forming a coated film having good water resistance, weather resistance and hardness of the coated film, and also excellent in gloss and antifouling properties of the coated film; and to provide an architectural coating including the aqueous resin composition. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition for architectural coating comprises a water-soluble polymer and emulsion particles. The water-soluble polymer is obtained by centrifuging an aqueous composition, obtained by mixing 10 g of emulsion particles, 0.5 g of a water-soluble polymer and 90 g of water, at revolution speed of 40,000 min<SP>-1</SP>at a temperature of 25°C for 4 hours, where it satisfies that the amount of the water-soluble polymer present in the water layer separated by the centrifugal separation occupies≥85 mass% of the total amount of the water-soluble polymer. The weight-average molecular weight of the water-soluble polymer is 500-80,000, and the amount of the water-soluble polymer per 100 pts.mass of the emulsion particles is 0.3-12 pts.mass.
