PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension device for a sliding door which is excelling in durability while obtaining a smooth opening/closing operation of the sliding door. SOLUTION: The suspension device for the sliding door includes a rail 20 located above the sliding door 1; a slider 21 slidably mounted to the rail 20 through balls in an endless circulating path; and a connecting means for connecting the slider 21 to the sliding door 1. The connecting means includes a shock absorbing mechanism for allowing the upward movement or thickness direction swing of the sliding door 1 when an upward or thickness direction force is applied to the sliding door 1, to prevent the force from being transmitted to the slider 20. A sliding door side connecting implement 23 is constituted to be movable upward by a predetermined amount and to be swingable around a swing support shaft 34 relative to a slider side connecting implement 22, and the slider side connecting implement 22 and the sliding door side connecting implement 23 constitute the shock absorbing mechanism.
