PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package and a method of manufacturing the package that prevents corrosion of a bonding material and exhibits excellent airtightness; and to provide a piezoelectric vibrator, an oscillator, an electronic apparatus, and a radio-controlled timepiece.

SOLUTION: A bonding material 23 formed on a front surface 2b of a base substrate 2 is anodically bonded to a frame region 3c of a lid substrate 3. On the outer surface of a package 10, a protection film 11 made of a material having higher resistance to corrosion than the bonding material 23 is formed so as to cover at least the bonding material 23 exposed between the base substrate 2 and the lid substrate 3.
