PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of properly ensuring confidentiality of a confidential document or image data representing the confidential document, while reducing the operational burden on a user. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a fingerprint reader 14 for acquiring information about the fingerprint of a user; a fingerprint collator 16 for determining whether the fingerprint of the user is proper based on the information about the fingerprint acquired by the fingerprint reader 14; a memory 13 for storing a plurality of kinds of functions by associating them with a plurality of preset information items about the fingerprint; and a controller 10 in which, when it is determined by the fingerprint collator 16 that the fingerprint is proper, execution of the function stored by the memory 13 associated with the information about the fingerprint read by the fingerprint reader 14 is started.
