ECDYSIS PROMOTING COMPOUND FOR REMOVAL OF TERMITE, ECDYSTEROID, ANALOG THEREOF AND METHOD OF USING CHITIN SYNTHESIS INHIBITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing an underground termite which can cause a serious damage.

SOLUTION: This is a composition containing an ecdysis promoting compound and a chitin synthesis inhibitor. The ecdysis promoting compound is an ecdysteroid and analogs thereof or halofenozide, tebufenozide etc. The ecdysteroid and analogs thereof are, for example, ecdysone, certain ecdysone analogs, and 20-hydroxyecdysone. The chitin synthesis inhibitor is, for example, hexaflumuron and/or noviflumuron. Combination of these active ingredients brings about restriction of chitin synthesis and promoted ecdysis and much enhances the activity against termite compared with either one of single compound groups.
