<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator, capable of suppressing variations of a drive state, without limiting the size of a piezoelectric element. <P>SOLUTION: The laminated type piezoelectric actuator 1 includes the piezoelectric element 2 simultaneously generating a first vibration mode and a second vibration mode by an applied voltage and friction units 4A, 4B that are disposed on an outer surface of the piezoelectric element 2 and abut on a driven element to generate a frictional force against the driven element.
