摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire air pressure monitoring system improving reliability of radio communication between a monitoring device installed in a vehicle and sensor units installed in individual wheels. SOLUTION: The tire air pressure monitoring system includes: the sensor units U1-U4 for transmitting response signals containing air pressure information; and the monitoring device 10 by which, upon receipt of the response signals, the air pressure information contained in the response signals is displayed on an indicator 13. Here, upon receipt of an instruction signal transmitted from the monitoring device 10, the sensor units U1-U4 determine randomly a delay time, namely from an activation signal receiving point to the start of transmission of the response signals, and then transmits the response signals after standby for the determined delay time. If the monitoring device 10 detects interference of the response signals when the instruction signal is transmitted to the sensor units U1-U4, the monitoring device retransmits the instruction signal to the sensor units U1-U4.
